Hey everybody! Just wanted to check in since I haven't posted here in a while and give you some updates on what's been going on. This is going to be a long post so stick with me! I have made the transition from taking photos to making films. Photos were always fun, but film has always been what I enjoy the most.

A couple weeks ago I traveled out to New York to attend my first film fest, the Blackbird Film Festival. There I screened my first film about my grandma's struggle with dementia. It was really well received and won 2 awards! The Life and Family award along with the Audience Choice award. It was a huge honor and really validated my confidence as a filmmaker. If you haven't seen it yet and care to here is the link: ( ) Trying to be a filmmaker in the middle of Iowa is really hard. Shockingly, there isn't a ton of actors, producers or other people around here to collaborate with, so going to this festival was so cool being able to talk to other people doing the same thing I am. Being a director is the thing in my life I have really found that I love unlike anything else so I am willing to work as long as it takes until I can do this as a career.

Coming back from that I've been really excited to make more. Over this last weekend, I shot my first narrative thriller film called "Ride Scare" about an uber/lyft ride that doesn't go to plan. I don't want to give too much away, but a trailer will be out soon.

Which brings me to my final point: I am looking for funding for my film to apply to festivals and meet more production studios, filmmakers, and people that I can work with. The only thing is that these festivals can be pretty dang expensive to even apply to, let alone travel to. The cheapest smallest ones are somewhere around $15 per entry to the larger better ones being somewhere around $80-$100. That may not sound like a lot, but it adds up. So anyway, I am looking for people to donate if you enjoy my work and believe in what I do. 100% of donations will go directly to applying for festivals. I have set up a donation box on my website if you're interested with several tiers set up. All donations will be acknowledged in the credits of "Ride Scare" along with larger donations being credited with the "Producer" and "Executive Producer" along with invites to any festivals the film is accepted into. These credits will be noted on IMDb as well.
